Day 1: Central
Kalahari, Botswana
We depart from Maun Airport to Haina Safari Lodge in the Central Kalahari
at 1:30pm arriving at 2:00pm. We are met at the airstrip and transferred
to the lodge for a welcome drink and orientation. Guests are then transferred
to their luxury safari tents where they have the opportunity to freshen
up before the afternoon game drive.
At 4:00pm the ranger will meet guests at their tents and proceed on the
evening game drive. Highlights would be sightings of the big cats, they
are extremely vocal and seen regularly. There are several territorial leopards
and cheetahs that also move through the conservancy. Sundowners (cocktails)
are enjoyed en route. Return to tents to freshen up before dinner.
Around 8:00pm guests are escorted from their tents to the lodge for dinner
and returned to their tents at around 10:00pm to retire for the evening.
Overnight Haina Safari Lodge - (D)
Day 2: Central
Kalahari, Botswana
At 6:30am this morning guests are transferred to the lodge for early morning
coffee and rusks before departing on early morning game drive. Bush breakfast
is enjoyed en route. Return to the lodge 11:30am.
Enjoy the comfort of the lodge at leisure until 1:30pm, light lunch served
at the lodge.
Around 3:00pm one of the lodge rangers will collect guests and depart
for a Bushman Lifestyle Experience. Haina Safari Lodge is located in close
proximity to the ancient mecca of the Bushmen that inhabited the area
about 6 000 years ago. Haina is home to a group of Bushmen, who are free
to continue their nomadic life or join the experienced staff at Haina.
They will share with you how they go about their daily lives, how they
search for roots and plants to live on, how to make a fire and do a rain
dance. Guests have the option of participating in a short bush walk with
the Bushmen.
Sundowners are enjoyed on return to Lodge.
Guests are given the opportunity to return to their tents before dinner.
Dinner is served from 8:00pm onwards.

Day 3: Central
Kalahari, Botswana
Depart early morning (± 6:00am depending on season) we make our
way to the Central Kalahari National Park. The driving time is approximately
2 hours to the park. We explore as we travel and meals are served either
en route or at the campsite depending on the game viewing opportunities.
On arrival at the Kgori campsite in the park, your campsite will be set
up for you and the evening meal is served at the campsite.
We overnight in dome tents on padded stretchers. Top quality sleeping
bags are provided, safari chairs and table will be set out for your convenience.

Day 4: Central
Kalahari, Botswana
Today we journey south from Deception Valley to Deception Pans, we will
visit the camp site of Mark and Delia Owens, the authors of the book “Cry
of the Kalahari”, we will learn more about their journeys in this
fascinating region of Africa.
Today is all about the African bush and the animals, we go where the animals
lead.
There is no water in the Kalahari so our safari group needs to bring in
its own water. Ablutions are all environmentally friendly units and are
supplied by the National Park and portable bush showers are used. There
is no electricity and your lights at night will be provided by candlelight
and gas lanterns. All meals are prepared on the camp fire by your top
class chef.

Day 5: Central
Kalahari, Botswana
Early morning drive to the edge of Deception “Valley” to simply
soak up Africa before departing for Haina, arriving back at around midday.
Guests have time to themselves until 4:00pm when they depart on their
evening game drive, dinner at the lodge at 8:00pm.

Day 6: Central

Guests have the option of an early morning game drive or sleeping in.
Breakfast is served at the lodge at 8:00am.
At 10:00 am guests depart Haina Safari Lodge by light aircraft to arrive
in Maun at 10:30am in time for a connecting flight to Johannesburg.
