THAT THUNDERS ADVENTURE AND SAFARI – 6 Nights / 7 Days Zambia and Zimbabwe share the banks of the Zambezi River that feeds one of the Seven Wonders of the World - The Victoria Falls. This itinerary will take you first to Zambia, providing the splendor of the Falls and the opportunity to enjoy some of the many activities offered in this adventure capital of Africa. Next, you travel to Botswana for off-road tracking of Africa's wildest animals, on safari. All transfers are arranged for you between lodges, hotels and airports. OVERVIEW
ITINERARY Day 1: Victoria Falls, Zambia Abroad & Beyond's representative will meet you at Livingston International Airport with a road transfer to the Zambezi Sun Hotel, close to the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls. During peak flow (January through June), the Zambian side of the Falls is most spectacular. Paths in the rainforest, downstream of the Falls, take you to look out points. Overnight The Zambezi Sun Hotel - (B) Day 2: Victoria Falls, Zambia A comprehensive list of activities are available to guests from the day activity center, which may be booked on arrival or with us prior to your departure. Please enquire for a full list. The hotel pool, stretching around the pavilion restaurant, is most inviting in the heat of the African summer. Overnight The Zambezi Sun Hotel - (B) Day 3: Victoria Falls, Zambia From the hotel it is only a 5 minute walk to the entrance of Victoria Falls and in peak season the mist from the spray is so thick you can’t see to the other side of The Falls. Perhaps take a helicopter flight for a birds eye view of this natural spectacle. (optional extra) Overnight The Zambezi Sun Hotel - (B) Day 4: Linyanti, Botswana Transfer from your hotel to Kasane (Botswana), where you board your light aircraft for the short flight to Lebala camp. The camp is situated next to the Linyanti marshes that form the boundary between Botswana and Namibia. Lebala, meaning wide open spaces, aptly describes the miles of open plains scattered with palms and trees. Overnight Lebala Camp - (FI) Day 5: Linyanti, Botswana Seasonal game walks are offered but is left to the discretion of the guides. Fishing is also a very popular sport but the camp subscribes to a catch and release policy. Main catches of the day are bream, tiger fish, catfish and pike. Game drives in the early morning and then again in the late afternoon are the highlights of the day. The afternoon game drive pauses for sundowners (cocktails) and the opportunity to photograph one of Africa's blazing sunsets. Overnight Lebala Camp - (FI) Day 6: Linyanti, Botswana The wilderness environment is in stark contrast to the luxury and comfort of the camp. Eight comfortable tents each with private deck, en-suite bathroom and outside shower, accommodate no more than 16 guests at any time. With Lebala's compliment of 17 staff members, the camp provides an unforgettable wilderness safari and exclusive and pampered hospitality.
